VISA REQUIREMENTS

Students are required to apply for Long Term Visa (Immigration Visa, type D) for study purposes. For this, a student must be enrolled at Caucasus International University and hold an official enrollment letter.

Enrollment procedure takes up to 3 weeks and the visa processing – up to 4 weeks.

ADMISSIONS

Admissions:

Going to school far from home is an exciting yet at times a difficult process. At NVU, we work hard to make sure all students feel at home. These are the steps to join our global community:

Step 1.

  • Applicants should first complete the Application;

  • Send the Application, together with copies of the documents necessary for the acquisition of student’s status, to the following email address: info@gias.ge

  • All documents not in English or not accompanied by a notarized English translation, must be translated either into English, French or German and be notarized;

  • Each applicant should enter his or her full name, passport number and desirable program title into the subject line of the email;

  • Within seven days after receiving the application, NVU will arrange a Skype interview with the applicant, confirm that the potential student meets all the necessary admission requirements and consequently send a Conditional Offer Letter.

Step 2.

  • Following the receipt of the Conditional Offer Letter, each applicant must pay the initial tuition fee and submit his or her full name and passport number in the Purpose of Transfer line. After receiving payment, NVU will send a Fee Acknowledgement Letter to the applicant;

  • Applicants should send the Power of Attorney to NVU authorizing NVU to represent the applicant with the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia;

  • NVU will apply to the National Centre for Educational Quality Enhancement and request the recognition of applicant’s education status acquired abroad with the aim to grant the right to enroll in the higher educational institution without sitting for the Unified National Examinations/Unified Master’s Examination;

  • Consequently, NVU will issue the enrollment document (granting student status) and an invitation to Georgia - the Unconditional Offer Letter.

Documents:

The applicants for a Bachelor and One-Cycle programs will be required to submit the following documents:

1. Copy of the International passport, for stateless persons – a copy of a residence certificate;

2. One of the following qualification documents:

2.1 A copy of a school-leaving certificate;

2.2 A copy of the document, providing for credits earned at a foreign higher education institution – for applicants, who study/studied and earned credits at a foreign higher education institution, duly authorized commensurate with the law in force of the country concerned;

3. A photo (3X4);

4. One of the English language proficiency documents, envisaged by Rules for Determination English Language Proficiency (if there is such);

5. If names in a passport and educational document are not the same – affidavit from the court, confirming that the both documents belong to the same person.

The applicants for a Master’s program will be required to submit the following documents:

1. Copy of the International passport, for stateless persons – a copy of a residence certificate;

2. One of the following qualification documents:

2.1 Bachelor’s Diploma

2.2 A copy of the respective higher education qualification document, issued by an authorized higher education institution of a foreign country;

2.3 A copy of the document, providing for credits earned at a foreign higher education institution – for applicants, who are/were taking Master’s courses and earned credits at a foreign higher education institution, duly authorized commensurate with the law in force of the country concerned;

3. The applicants, who enrolled in a higher education institution commensurate with the Procedure of Enrolment without taking the Unified National Examination will be additionally required to present the following documents:

3.1 The copies of the qualification document acquired as a result of enrolment through the Procedure of Enrolment without taking the Unified National Examination – Diploma and Diploma Supplement;

3.2 An act of the head of the higher education institution, certifying the enrolment of the applicant concerned for the first cycle of higher education at a higher education institution through the Procedure of Enrolment without taking the Unified National Examination;

4. A photo (3X4);

5. One of the English language proficiency documents, envisaged by Rules for Determination English Language Proficiency (if there is such);

6. If names in a passport and educational document are not the same – affidavit from the court, confirming that the both documents belong to the same person.

Preconditions for the enrollment for a Ph.D. program:

  • A completed electronic application form
  • Copy of the International passport, for stateless persons – a copy of a residence certificate;
  • A qualification document (Master’s Diploma or equalized thereto qualification document);
  • A photo (3X4);
  • The document certifying the payment of the tuition fee;
  • An international certificate certifying, at least B2 level proficiency in the English or other European language (German, French) or any other language proficiency document;
  • Well-founded recommendation of the curator, which may contain some information about the education, working experience or earlier academic activities of the applicant.
